Shri Shri Raghaveshwara Baharathi Swamiji, the 36th Guru in the uninterrupted descendency following Shri Adi Shankaracharya founded the Dharma Chakra Trust (Regd.), a charitable institution with great ambitions and vision towards social development through activities of social integration, establishment of educational institutions, welfare of the community etc. 

In the education field, Shri Swamiji  deires to set up a Takshashila model University with an intention of encouraging Indian traditional education and fine arts.  Shri Swamiji felt that along with ancient education, youths should keep themselves abreast of the time by getting the modern education.  Hence he founded the Shree Bharathi Institute of Applied Sciences. (Currently knows as Shree Bharathi college).
